The water supply news for March is looking much better than it did the last two years. The following is a comparison of the reservoir levels on March 20, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020 and 2019:
2023 | 2022 | 2021 | 2020 | 2019 | |
Howard Prairie | 11,659 | 5,227 | 4,733 | 16,854 | 16,947 |
Hyatt Lake | 2,770 | 1,849 | 2,681 | 7,685 | 2,991 |
Emigrant Lake | 12,870 | 4,053 | 6,654 | 22,591 | 23,944 |
TOTALS | 27,299 (24%) | 11,129 (10%) | 14,068 (12%) | 47,130 (41%) | 43,882 (38%) |
The numbers are very encouraging, but we still need more precipitation to continue to increase the storage amounts. We currently have approximately 3,000 acre feet more in storage than what we started the 2022 irrigation season with. Let’s hope the rain and snow continue to come our way.
