Water Supply Update – March 20, 2023

The water supply news for March is looking much better than it did the last two years. The following is a comparison of the reservoir levels on March 20, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020 and 2019:

2023 2022 2021 2020 2019
Howard Prairie 11,659 5,227 4,733 16,854 16,947
Hyatt Lake 2,770 1,849 2,681 7,685 2,991
Emigrant Lake 12,870 4,053 6,654 22,591 23,944
TOTALS 27,299 (24%) 11,129 (10%) 14,068 (12%) 47,130 (41%) 43,882 (38%)

The numbers are very encouraging, but we still need more precipitation to continue to increase the storage amounts. We currently have approximately 3,000 acre feet more in storage than what we started the 2022 irrigation season with. Let’s hope the rain and snow continue to come our way.
