IRRIGATION SEASON START DATE HAS BEEN SET FOR MONDAY, MAY 5TH

We are fortunate to have had a very wet winter with a lot of snow, which has come close to filling all three of our reservoirs. They are currently at a combined storage capacity of 91%. This does not mean we are going to be wasteful with our water use. Everyone needs to use the water as efficiently as possible so that we can carry over as much water as possible for the 2026 irrigation season. We do not know what this coming winter will look like and whether the water supply will be replenished as it was last winter, so conservation is our priority.

We will start making our first water deliveries on Monday, May 5th. We will be working prior to this date on flushing the debris and soaking the canals in preparation for deliveries. The canals need to be brought up to operating depths slowly so as not to cause canal failure. During this time, water deliveries will not be made.

Some rotations will begin the week of May 5th. As pressurized lines are slowly charged, more deliveries will be made. If you are on a pressure line, it is important that you do not start irrigating until the line is fully charged. If you start before it is fully charged, it delays everyone’s ability to start irrigating. The ditch riders will let people know when the lines are fully charged.

The office will begin taking water orders by telephone starting on Friday, May 2nd. Please do not email your water orders to the office. It is important to remember that not everyone will be able to start irrigating the week of May 5th.

If we all work together cooperatively, we can make this the best season we have had in several years. We anticipate being able to supply water to our patrons through most of September. Once again, we all need to work together to conserve as much water as possible.

As a reminder, the irrigation charges must be paid in full before any water is delivered to your property. If you are a landowner that needs to fill out Reclamation Reform Act Forms, (there are approximately 100 of you) the forms need to be on file in the District office before water can be delivered.
