IRRIGATION PAYMENTS WERE DUE BY
THIS IS A FRIENDLY REMINDER THAT THE 2013-
2014 IRRIGATION ACCOUNTS WERE DUE BY APRIL 1,
2014. AFTER THAT DATE INTEREST IS ADDED
TO ALL DELINQUENT ACCOUNTS.
WATER SUPPLY - UPDATED APRIL 15,
As of April 15th the water supply conditions
have not greatly improved. The lack of any
significant storm systems has kept the water
supply accumulations to a minimum. We are
still facing a very limited water supply.
The longer we hold off starting the water in
the spring, the longer the water supply will
last into the summer.
At this time the District plans on beginning
to prime the canals the week of April 28th.
The priming process involves starting with
minimum flows and incrementally increasing
those flows over a period of days to bring
the canals up to full service levels. We
expect to begin making water deliveries
sometime after May 1st. Keep in mind that
the Ditch Riders will be charging pressure
lines and beginning to set up rotations at
Should we receive rain between now and May
1st, we will hold off as long as possible
before starting water in the canals. Once
again, the longer we are able to hold off
starting water this spring, the longer the
water supply will last into the summer. The
Districtís goal is to deliver the available
water supply equally to all users. We will
do everything we can to make that happen, but
we will need the full cooperation of all
water users in this endeavor.
McDonald Water Users Only
Since the McDonald System runs on natural
stream flow and does not have any storage
reservoirs, it is important that this system
be up and running to take advantage of the
natural stream flow while it is available.
With that said, the District began priming
the McDonald System on Monday, April 14th and
will begin water deliveries later in the
week. Unfortunately it is still looking like
the natural stream flow may not last very
long and the McDonald System is looking at a
very short irrigation season.
